The Lakeside Dragons recently took a memorable field trip to Historic League Park, giving student-athletes the opportunity to experience one of the most historic baseball sites in Ohio. The trip allowed players and coaches to step back in time and learn about the rich history of America’s pastime while spending time together as a team outside of regular competition.
During the visit, players toured the historic stadium grounds and museum exhibits, which featured memorabilia, photographs, and stories from generations of baseball history. Team members learned about the impact the stadium had on the game and the many legendary players who once competed on the same field.
The Dragons also had the chance to walk onto the field, take team photos, and enjoy a baseball experience unlike any other. Coaches used the opportunity to emphasize the importance of teamwork, tradition, sportsmanship, and appreciating the history of the game.
The field trip provided a valuable learning experience for the players while also creating lasting memories for the program. The day served as a reminder that baseball is more than just competition — it is a game built on tradition, community, and shared experiences that connect generations of players.
