Dakota Berg was officially board approved on June 5th as the new Assistant Principal of Lakeside High School. Berg is a graduate of James. A. Garfield High School in Garrettsville, Ohio. During high school Mr. Berg was a four sport athlete and earned all-state recognition in both basketball and bowling. After high school Mr. Berg attended Lourdes University and played baseball and golf. While only attending Lourdes for his first two years of college, Mr. Berg earned two varsity letters in both baseball and golf. After two years, Dakota decided to go back home and finish his undergraduate degree at Cleveland State University.
After graduating from Cleveland State, Mr. Berg started his teaching career at Maple Heights City Schools. Mr. Berg has had an explermorary career earning the rating of accomplished each year as an educator. While teaching at Maple Heights, Mr. Berg completed his Masters in Educational Administration at Cleveland State University as well as receiving his Teacher Leadership Endorsement through Kent State University. Mr. Berg was also a member of the Maple Heights District Leadership Team, Data Manager, and the Athletic Director at Milkovich Middle School.Mr. Berg has demonstrated an ability to create student achievement, posting a 96% passage rate on the Algebra 1 EOC.
Mr. Berg is extremely knowledgeable with data and how to use data to improve achievement. Mr. Berg will be able to collaborate with our teachers at Lakeside High School using Illuminate to create assessments that prepare students for success.
