Jacob Lagoa and Ethan Wannett continue to be the catalyst for the return of Lakeside Wrestling. Lagoa finished second on Saturday at Brecksville Holiday Tournament falling to Carson Kharchla (Olentangy Liberty), who is believed to be the best pound-for-pound wrestler in the state. Lagoa improved to 22-1 on the season and picked up 100th career win on Friday afternoon.
Wannett, who placed seventh at KIT last season, fought back through the consolation bracket to finish third at Kenston improving to 22-5 on the season, his only loss this weekend was to state-ranked, Moustapha Bal of Fairfield, he defeated Kenneth Lambert of Strongsville in the third place match.
Luis Guevara, Kevin Peitt, and Robbie Delewski wrestled into day two of the KIT.
Wrestling will be back in action next Friday (January 4) at Poland for a tri-match with Austintown Fitch.
